The Furry Friend Tag

I watched this on YouTube this week, and I just knew Jester would be well up for that… sort of!

Basically, the Furry Friend Tag is a bunch of questions for you to answer about or with your furry buddy. I found these on YouTube (after a whole evening of working my way deeper and deeper through vlogs – you know those kind of evenings), and I’m going to answer them with Jester-pooch while I’ve popped home for the day.

The questions were the easy part… the photos to go with the questions, not so much!

1. What is Your Pet’s Name?
Jester, so called because when he was a puppy we thought his face markings made him look like he’d had his face painted.

2. What kind of pet is it, and what breed?
He’s a pooch, and the breed took me ages to learn when we first got him and his brother. Ready for this…. Wired-Haired-Jack-Russel-Wippet-Collie-Cross. Phew…!

3. How long have you had your pet friend?
We’ve had Jester for just over thirteen years now.

4. How did you get your pet?
My mum and dad had just separated, and we’d always had cats before then. My mum surprised me one day by taking me to see a whole bunch of puppies. The surprise was that we were going to get a puppy – just one. But by the time we arrived to look at them there were only two out of seven left, so we ended up buying two rather than leaving one behind.

I remember that when we actually picked them up we’d just come back from a girls holiday with my mum, her friend, and her daughters. It was carnival night in Devizes, and our choices were to either be in the carnival or go and pick the puppies up… and I was completely selfish and chose the dogs! But who wouldn’t?!

5. How old is your pet?
Just over thirteen years old, we’ve had him since he was a puppy.

6. What are some quirky things about your pet?
He loves sitting on the sofa, but he’s learnt a sneaky trick on how to get his seat. He barks at the door, or whines until someone gets up to let him out, then while they’re out of the room he runs back in and jumps in their seat. It’s so clever, it’s nearly hard to get him off again… nearly!

He has loads of little quirky things. He goes mad when we’re in the park and a girl-dog comes along. It’s so cute, he runs around like a mad thing with his tail up in the air. He snores! So loudly! When he falls asleep downstairs it’s hard to hear the telly over him sometimes.

7. What does your relationship with your pet mean to you?
I love Jester, he means the world to me. Coming home wouldn’t be the same without coming home to a Jester-cuddle every time, and he’s so good when I’m feeling sad, or if it’s just the two of us chilling in the house together.

8. What are some of your favourite past-times with your pet?
We love mooching on the sofa and watching tv, but then days out are fun too. He loves the beach, and running in the sea. We’ve been to a place called Moors Valley, near Bournemouth, a couple of times, it’s just like a big woodland area, and that’s always fun.

9. What are nicknames that your call your pet?
Pooch, Boy, we don’t really have many nicknames for Jester. His brother, Charlie, used to have more nicknames, but mainly because he was always the cheeky one who misbehaved.

And that’s ma pooch!

I’ll leave Jester to get back to his Sunday afternoon nap and pour myself a well-earned cup of Earl Grey. Enjoy the rest of your weekend,
xx
