Things I Want To Do This Winter

(And a throwback to my dark hair! Those were the days…)

Okay, so I know it’s not technically Winter yet, but it’s rainy and blowy outside, and the urge to stay in all cosied up is too strong to fight right now. So, I thought I’d go with the flow and start off a little Wintery related post…

Cuddle with the Cat Our little houseguest is so snuggly these days, he pops round for a few hours every Sunday afternoon and then politely asks to be let out. Such a cutie. He’s going to get a lot more cuddles this Winter.
Drink (even more) Hot Chocolate I say ‘even more’ because I’ve already upped my intake of Hot Chocolate massively. My dad taught me to make lovely hot chocolates – he said just put a mug of milk (or double cream if you’re feeling naughty) in the microwave for 3 minutes, then add three spoonfuls of Cadbury’s Hot Chocolate Powder. Squirt of whipped cream. Crumbled Flake, and away you go.
Learn How to Make Malibu Hot Chocolate For when I feel that I have had too much hot chocolate, then I can use this to make myself feel slightly better… maybe.
Keep Pinning Summer Holidays on Pinterest I’ve got my ‘Wanderlust’ board going on Pinterest, and it’s going to be getting a lot of views this Winter. I spend hours on Pinterest as it is, exploring random boards looking for inspiration and motivation (I’ve started a new ‘Fitspiration’ board, best thing I’ve ever done!), and I think Summer Holidays is the way to go through Winter. Give me something to look forward to at the end of all this cold.

Spend Christmas at Home Any student will probably be doing the same, but I’m heading home for Christmas this year, and, even though my family only live an hour and a half away from uni, I am so looking forward to it this year. Proper, home cooked meals and cuddles with Jester-boy are all I need this Christmas.
Buy a New Pair of Winter Boots I’m a sucker for a pair of cute pumps – my current favourites are a nude coloured pair from New Look – but as nice as they are, they just don’t cut it in Winter! I suffer from bad circulation in my hands and feet (another weird thing to add to the list!), so when I leave the house in pointless shoes I come home with soaking wet, freezing feet covered in painful chillblaines. This year I’m going to invest in a new pair of Winter boots (as well as aiming to wear my Converse a lot more than my pumps!)… or maybe just ask Santa nicely?
Get Lot’s of Early Nights With the early (and I mean EARLY) mornings for Rowing training, and nights getting darker earlier, this one shouldn’t be too hard. I’m starting to get into the habit of heading to bed nice and early, watching one or two episodes of ‘3rd Rock From the Sun’, then drifting off to sleep, all ready to wake up (almost) refreshed and ready for the new day (pffft!)

And that’s my little list of aims/goals for this Winter, if I think of anymore I’ll add them on later.
I’m so much more of a Wintery person than a Summer person – I love wrapping up all warm in coats and hoodies.

I hope you’re all having a lovely weekend and looking forward to Winter as much as me! What’re your plans for this year?

xx
