I hate to say it, but November is fast approaching again people, and so is the colder weather. If it’s dry and crisp, there’s nothing I love more than to wrap up warm and take a little Autumn walk – but if it’s wet and miserable out I’d much rather wrap up in a throw and have a cosy movie afternoon.
Netflix is a minefield, once you start looking for a movie it can takes hours – well, a while anyway – to finally choose something to watch. Luckily, I’ve done a little bit of looking beforehand, and have collected together some of my favourite go-to films for cosy afternoon viewing. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do, and if there’s any you think I’ve missed please feel free to share them in the comments.
Dumplin’ – cute and uplifting, without a lot of the cheese that comes with other movies.
Spirited Away – a bit on the odd side, but great if you fancy more of a cartoon, rather than real life.
When Harry Met Sally – one of my personal favourites, a rom-com that questions whether men and women can ever be just friends.
13 Going On 30 – a classic cosy film, in my opinion.
Clueless – one of the first films I watched at the start of lockdown, and – apart from the slightly questionable romance story – it’s a great film to watch in an cosy afternoon.
The Stepford Wives – a great story with twists and turns everywhere.
Mystic Pizza – a throwback film with several different storylines, but really cute and quaint.
Kindergarten Cop – a heartwarming story, where an undercover cop has to go into a kindergarten class.
Twins – the second Arnie film on the list, this is slightly out-there, but also easy to watch.
Trainwreck – one of my favourites on Netflix, and some of Amy Schumer’s best work. Plus Bill Hader, and he’s always great.
