I hope you enjoyed the first week of Blogmas 2020, and the Week of Gift Guides. Today we have a little bonus post – a Giftmas for the pooches in the family. Before we kick off, just remember to always read the feeding limits for treats before you treat your dog – they’re treats, not meals, so you don’t want to give your pooch a poorly tummy on Christmas day. Don’t give your dog anything that disagrees with them, or isn’t appropriate for dogs in general, and when dressing them up always keep an eye out for if they’re reaching their limit – not all dogs are designed for clothes.
Just because they’re the family pet doesn’t mean they shouldn’t enjoy the Christmas feast too. Start with this Naturo Turkey Meal, which comes with rice, vegetables, and cranberries, and for the trimmings or a snack later, they can have these Pigs in Blankets. And for pudding, give them these Doggy Mince Pies. For a small dog that’s in need of a cosy place to hang out, try this Arlan Dog House, or this really cute Sklum Tipi for them. For extra comfort, gift your pooch a Mutts and Hounds Tweed Dog Bed and a matching Mutts and Hounds Tweed Blanket for added warmth and cosy-vibes. While they’re hanging out, give them these Dog Pyjamas to wear – Bob loves his when it’s extra cold. For trips out and about, give them a dapper Personalised Neckerchief, or, if it’s extra cold, a Candy Cane Scarf. For the dapper boys don them with a Christmas Bow-Tie, and for the sassy girls get them a pair of Sequin Reindeer Antlers. They won’t appreciate it, but a Personalised Dog Print is a lovely gift for the family home, and still gives the pooch the attention they deserve, or, if you want to gift them a print they will enjoy, give them an Edible Christmas Card. For a post Christmas treat, go with an At-Home Baking Kit – you’ll have to put in the legwork, but I’m sure they’ll be thankful.
If those don’t make their tail wag, how about…
- Mutts and Hounds – I’ve featured a few things from Mutts and Hounds on the list, but it’s worth taking a look at everything they offer if you’re looking for a beautiful gift for your pooch.
- Toys and Treats Gift Hamper – if you’re struggling for time or ideas, this ready-made toys and treats hamper is a great solution, and leaves you with a cute hamper to keep their toys in after the big day.
- Lords and Labradors – another great website for treats and gifts for your dog, and they do also have a few things for cats if you’re buying for one of those as well.
- Borrow My Doggy Turkey Recipe – home-make a turkey meal for your pooch so they can join in the festivities – from under the lunch table of course.
- Yappy – a great website where you can set up a personalised shop for your dog, and then easily get them as mugs, aprons, and loads more. And they do gifts for both people and dogs, so you can sort everyone out in one place.
- Dog Breed Tree Decoration – get your pooch involved in the decorations as well as the gifts, with one of these. You can personalise it too.
- Pet Photo Treat Cracker – just another part of the Christmas celebrations to include the dog in, this time with a personalised Christmas cracker before they have their treats.
- Percy and Co. – another great place to find super cute bow ties and accessories for your pooch.
- Ollie and Co. – a great place for gift inspiration, from Paw and Nose Balm, to care packages for owners and dogs to share.
- Matching Bandana and Face Mask – they probably haven’t noticed much change when they’re out and about on their walks, but get them involved with this matching set.
- Dog Biscuit Wreath – cute idea that’ll also look great in your home. And your pooch will love the edible side to it, so everyone’s a winner.
- Walking Gift Set – something that both owner and dog can enjoy, making this gift set a perfect gift idea if you’re planning on buying a joint present.
- Personalised Present Sack – once you’ve bought all their presents, finish it off with a Santa Sack. Looks great under the tree.
