I know, I know – Valentines Day is a commercialised holiday, and you shouldn’t need a specific day to share your love with your partner. But at the same time, isn’t it just a little bit lovely to have a day to go big? Usually I avoid February 14th like the plague. I’ve always been a singleton, every year, without fail – but this year, for the first time, I’ll be celebrating a 2021 Valentines with someone.

The stinker is that this year – in the UK anyway – we’re limited to our homes, so no cocktails in a trendy bar, or multi-course meal in a fancy restaurant – we’re limited to online gift-buying. Luckily for you, I’ve done the legwork, and this is my Ultimate Valentines Day Gift Guide – over one hundred ideas, including a little bonus section for Galentines Day! Enjoy!

Classic Gifts

Sometimes you can’t go wrong with the classics and cliché romance for Valentines, and that’s what this part of the list is for. We all know the kind of things on this list – I’m talking boxes of chocolates, bouquets of flowers, the perfume. Anything you’ve seen in a movie. If you’re struggling for a gift idea, this is the list to start.

Things to Do Together

We’re going to need at-home date night ideas for Valentines this year, what with restaurants and cocktail bars not being an option. So, why not incorporate something for you both to enjoy doing together in your gift. Give yourselves something to enjoy doing in your home together, or, alternatively give yourselves something to look forward to doing once you can go out and about again.

Personalised Gifts

There’s something extra-romantic about a personalised gift. Whether it’s personalised with a photo some way, or a personal message, or even just something that relates to you as a couple. These gifts are those things, that take a little extra thought, but give a little extra love on Valentines.

Pamper Treats

Everyone loves a pamper evening, and this part of the gift list is for just that. A mixture of accessories and clothing to get your partner in the cosy mood, and bath products to bring home the spa. It’s a particularly stressful time at the moment too, so I have no doubt your other half will be more than grateful for an excuse to have a pamper.

Funny Gifts

We’re not all romantic couples – sometimes the urge to go down the humorous route is strong, and that’s fine with me! For this part of the gift guide I’ve got some funnier gifts that stray away from the cliché and serious Valentines vibe.

For the Home

If you live together it can be nice to get something for your home that you can both enjoy. I’m thinking kitchen accessories to cook up a storm together, or something to enjoy as a home experience. Or, give them a gift especially for their part of the home, like their office.

Pre-Made

If you’re rushed, or if you’re just not feeling the inspiration for gift buying, that’s not a problem! Luckily there are some great ready-made gift sets and hampers out there, and there’s most likely one for pretty much every taste. Add a Valentines card, and the gift is complete.

For Her

If you’re in need of some generic inspiration for your girlfriend or wife, then take a look through these ideas. There’s a mix of home accessories, clothing, accessories, and all for different budgets, so there’s bound to be something on this list for them.

For Him

Again, if you want some inspiration from scratch for the guy in your life, then this is the place to start. These are the – quite cliché – gift ideas for men, and should give you the inspiration kick start you need to get started. Whether they’re fitness fanatics, music lovers, or coffee obsessed, there’s something on this list for everyone.

And for Galentine’s Day

If you don’t know what Galentine’s Day is, the easiest way to describe it is as the single’s celebration day – if you have a friend who’s not celebrating Valentine’s day, then February 13th is the day to give them a treat. Send them a little gift to let them know – especially at the moment – that you’re thinking of them.

Thanks for sharing! This is a great post. We don’t usually celebrate valentines but I’ve been thinking about getting/doing something because it’s been such a miserable year and we all need a reason to smile even if its just something small. I’ve bookmarked so that I can come back and look over it again later.

I know, we were happy because it’s our first Valentine’s together, but to be honest it is just nice to have another occasion to celebrate after Christmas feels so long ago!
