I don’t know about you, but Autumn has absolutely flown by for me.
What with settling in with Joaquin, getting into a new routine (and then another few new routines), and having such a busy schedule in October, the last two months haven’t seemed to happen. It feels like only last week I was sharing my fashion finds for Autumn. And already I’m thinking about my Winter wardrobe.
Winter wardrobes are great. There’s so much to look forward to in the Winter months, picking out the clothes is just a bonus. Bonfire displays, visiting garden centres with their Christmas decorations out, a tractor and tinsel parade, if you live in the countryside like we do. I love wrapping up warm and going out into the cold to look at the Christmas lights. I can’t wait.
So for the last few weeks I’ve been starting to save my favourite Winter fashion finds to my wishlist, and today I’m going to share them. If you see anything you like let me know in the comments!

I’m thinking heavy on the layering this year, rather than a big coat. I usually invest in a new, oversized coat every year, but this year I’ve noticed a lot more smaller layers ending up in my wishlist on Amazon. One of my favourites are waistcoats. In particular, knitted waistcoats. They work well as an extra layer over a nice top and under a jacket, and in the warmer months I’m thinking they’ll work just as well on their own. I’ll be investing in a few of these this year.
Another alternative to big coats I’m looking at are jackets. And the hidden maximalist in me is drawn towards the patterned ones. This works for me, especially as a lot of my tops tend to be more on the plain side. I’ve got a mix of brightly coloured floral prints, then checked prints. If I was on a splurge I’d go for this gorgeous Levi one.
Oversized casual fleeces are always on my list. This year I’ve spent a lot more time on movie days inside, so I invested early in a few. I’ve gone for a mix of classic fleece styles, then furry ones. I always love some fluffy jumpers, so I find myself buying a few every year. The one I went for this year is the fluffiest one I’ve ever bought, and it’s so cosy. The nice thing about a fluffy jumper is that it’s so warm you don’t have to wear a big top layer – I’ve been wearing mine with my long gilet.
On my feet I’m making the switch full time to boots. My boot of choice is always sturdy black boots. I have a lace up pair, and a slip on ankle pair, depending on how I’m feeling. Then bulking them out with a pair of warm socks. I’m also looking at little ugg-style shoes. I’ve never been a big Uggs fan – I’m quite heavy on shoes, so I quickly ruin them. But a short pair like these are much more ideal for me.
And obviously there’s the winter-musts. Knitted beanie hats and oversized scarves are always on my list. I like to treat myself to a new one every year, just to celebrate the arrival of Winter.
