I’m updating my wardrobe ready for Autumn…

I’ve got the exciting double hit of not only switching to my Autumn cosy clothes, but also being able to fit back into non-maternity clothes. I’m so excited to be able to expand my wardrobe again. I’ve ran, not walked, to Amazon to find my Autumn fashion staples for this year.

Fashion wise, autumn is my favourite time of year, and the part I find easiest to dress for. Summer is lovely, but I’m always too paranoid to leave the house without a jacket. Winter is slippery under foot and usually wet above. And Spring is hard to decide between sunshine and cold. But Autumn is cold enough for snugglies, but still warm enough that you can show off a nice outfit under a jacket.

That’s my go-to for Autumn fashion this year. Nice or simple tops tucked into jeans with boots, and a nice jacket over top. For the colder days I’ll throw on a scarf – usually oversized – and a woolly hat. To help myself out, I’ve been looking through Amazon meticulously to find the best Autumn fashion staples to add to my wardrobe.

I love gingham for any time of year, but I think it definitely works for Autumn. It’s adds a little bit of a pumpkin patch vibe somehow. I have several gingham items in my wardrobe just waiting to come out at the best opportunity, including this gingham tie-top. A tie top being something I was excited to add to my staples. When they started coming into fashion I was already very belly-heavy in my pregnancy, so it wasn’t the ideal time for me to purchase. I’ll team the top with a pair of jeans and a pair of boots or Converse. On days when I’m a little more tummy-conscious I may cover it with a waistcoat, but I’ll leave my options open.

Obviously jumpers are a must for Autumn, and I love a combination of cosy-pretty jumpers, and practical oversized fleeces. I love the feel of having your sleeves so long you can pull them over your hands when it’s nippy. They also look good with jeans or leggings, so when you get home from a cold walk you can just change into your snugglies, but keep the top going.

Boots wise, I’ve only really got into wearing boots in the last couple of years. It might sounds strange, but I was never comfortable in boots. I don’t know why. But I’ve managed to collect a couple of different pairs in the last year or so that I’ve built into my wardrobe more, and have grown an appreciation for them. Other than wellies for a long walk, I like either a slip on ankle pair, or a slightly longer lace up pair. They look good with jeans, skirts or dresses, so it’s a win win. Plus, I always buy them a little bigger so I can fit a cosy pair of socks inside. So Autumn.

And that’s my Autumn go to’s for this year. What will you be wearing this year?
