Cheat Millionaire’s Shortbread

This is a really easy, quick recipe that’s really handy if you’re stuck for present ideas for Father’s Day. It takes less than half an hour to make, and, bought wisely, can be really cheap as well – perfect for those among us who want to give our dad’s a treat, but don’t have the money to splurge right now. So, here’s a quick guide on what to do.Measurement wise with the ingredients, I didn’t measure how much of everything I put together, I just guessed. It depends on how many shortbreads you want to make, and how much of all the sweet treats you want on it.

Shortbread
Toffees
Dark chocolate
Sweet and salt popcorn

First, melt the toffees in a bowl over some simmering water. This can take a while, toffee is quite difficult to work with I think. Once it’s melted, drizzle it over the shortbread how you want to. You have to work quite quickly with the toffee, it’ll start to harden as soon as you take it off the heat.

Leave the toffee to chill a little. Meanwhile, melt the dark chocolate in the same way as you melted the toffees. Once it’s melted completely, drizzle it over the top of the shortbread as well. While it’s still melted, stick some of the popcorn to the biscuits. I broke the popcorn up a little, so it was tiny pieces rather than full pieces of popcorn.

And that’s it, so easy and quick. I hope you enjoy it as much as I am,
xx
