Happy Weekend

Every now and then it’s nice to drop in a little catch up post on the blog – a little chilled out, talky post, rather than one with a purpose. Don’t you think?

I keep chortling on about it, but I’m still on furlough from my job – we’re into month six of no working people – and I’m really ready to jump back into it now. If it’s taught me anything, it’s that I’m going to be rubbish at entertaining myself when I’m retired.

Anyway, with the news being a bit on the depressing side this week I’ve found a few things to try and cheer us all up a bit.

It’s conker season, and the conkers are on the ground for grabs again. We’ve collected our bunch for the windows – fyi aparently it’s not true that they keep spiders away – but I’ll be using them as a placebo.

I found a cartoon that pretty much sums up holiday-craving in 2020 so far (The New Yorker)

A new season of Travels with my Father, with Jack Whitehall and his dad, is hitting Netflix next week

I discovered how much better buying a tube of face mask cream* is, rather than individual sachets.

The amazing Levison Wood released his photography book* from his travels – and I’m heading to London to see his exhibition next weekend

Random fact – more people go from single to ‘in a relationship’ or engaged in Autumn.

I got this beautiful cheetah t-shirt this week, and, although you have to be a little careful with the custom charges for it, it’s totally worth it!

This article about compliments you receive in your thirties is both hilarious and true (The New Yorker)
