That’s right – I’ve been off to London again. I only visited a few weeks ago, when I went to China Town, but this time there was a photography exhibition on at the Leica Gallery that I was desperate to visit, so I made the decision to go again. When I mentioned the trip to London – and I’d already planned the gallery trip with someone, all booked in – my mum liked the idea of a London trip, and so we planned that as well.
The first visit I made was with my mum, and mainly because she wanted to visit the fabric section of Liberty, so that was the biggest part of the day. We’d only booked five hours in London, so by the time we’d done that and stopped for lunch we were pretty much on our way back.
Usually I have no problem with navigating the tube – I look up my journey on the app, then just screenshot the lines and stops I need. But somehow, going from Notting Hill direction, we managed to get on the wrong one, and in the scrabble to get back, missed our coach home. So, we had to buy a train ticket home and suck it up a bit – there’s only one coach back for us a day, so once you miss it that’s it.
Lesson of the day – always make sure you’re in the right part of London well before your coach leaves!
