Happy Friday! I’ve made no secret that I had my holiday cancelled this year – I had a two-week trip travelling around traditional China booked, and it was my first big holiday away. Unfortunately then a certain pandemic happened, and unfortunately I’ve had to put a hold on any travelling abroad for a while. Which is a bit gutting.
But, life goes on, so when I got an invite to go to London last weekend I took it and had a weekend away. We didn’t go out too much and tried to avoid crowds as much as possible, but London was so quiet compared to what it’s usually like anyway.
When we arrived we decided to have a chilled day. We went for a walk around Battersea Park, which is gorgeous. If you’ve never been, it’s a massive park area with a lake in the middle, and an outdoor bar area where you can sit and have a drink. It was lovely, until it hit thirty-six degrees and I felt like I was going to pass out – hence why not many photos were taken that day.
On the Saturday we headed into London a little more, mainly to China Town for lunch. I won’t lie, we had no idea what we were doing or how to order, so we ended up with lot’s of meat platters, and no sides, noodles or rice. But what we did have was delicious and really filling. China Town is one of my favourite places in London.
After that the rest of the weekend was more relaxed, watching movies and eating Nandos. It couldn’t be further away from the holidays I was expecting this year, but it’s so great to just go away for a few days, and adding just a little bit of China to it totally satisfies my cancelled wanderlust.
Travel safe!
