The Lock Down Diaries: A Week of Dreaming and Heartbreak

And cliche post titles apparently. Week six of the UK lock down, and it was a bit of a rough one, as far as rough week’s go at the moment. I had been worrying about my booked trip to China for a long time, and finally made the decision that it would be best to postpone it for a while. It was a hard decision because it wasn’t until October, which might be fine by then, but it would mean that I would need to sort out my visas and things now, and it was just too much stress to try and judge what’s going to happen.

Then the decision making depened, when the company I booked with (which has been lovely and professional through the whole process I must add) let me know that unfortunately I’m booked onto a trip that they won’t be running next year. So rather than postponing my current trip, I had to look and see if there was another one I wanted to do, do I go for a similar one or completely mix it up, or do I just get a refund at this stage?

However, then with the idea of having a little more money in my savings, the prospect of moving out from home suddenly became more of a reality, and so it’s been an exciting week on that front. A week of ups and downs, at the start of the week I was waking up with stress headaches, and by the end of it I was putting together a moving out box (very premature, but still).

Anyway, this week I’ve slightly abandoned my usual lock down diaries style, and just having a bit of a chat. I had the lists ready to go, and realised that this week I haven’t really done anything other than stress and chill, so there’s not been a lot to talk about. It was also much wetter weather this week, so I spent a lot more time in the house watching films.

Hopefully this coming week is going to be a lot less stressful, I think I’ve pretty much made my decision on the next steps for my holiday plans, and there are a few posts for the blog in the pipeline, so I should have a few things to keep me busy. I’ve also been ignoring my own advice, and not getting my outdoor time everyday, so that’s on my goals for the upcoming days.

Hope everyone’s had a lovely week, better than mine, and here’s to another positive week in isolation.

xx
